Can't you just create 2 index pages. 1 to sign-up for email announcement and another called something like beta.php which gives a person access to the site. Actually a name like shydBeta.php (where shyd are just random characters) would probably be better so it is not easily found by surfers.

EISinc posted in the group discussion topic "SE Blog comment FONT size":Thanks MD, I was able to notice that the size of the font is generated from (div "profile_comment_body") which I was able to located on the styles.css file.

Which apps bog down your server? Either from SocialEngine or 3rd party.
SocialEngine's Chat plugin with IM enabled does for me.

I use Google Ad Manager. That way I can sell ads and also show adsense as well. http://www.google.com/admanager
